The BARCing Lot - Issue #2 (September 2025)
Welcome back to The BARCing Lot, our monthly newsletter for the Bay Area Rivian Club. August was full of hands-on learning, caffeine-fueled mornings, and community milestones.
Here’s a look back at what we did together — and what’s coming up in September.
August Recap
Maintenance Day – August 16 – Walnut Creek
Seven members came together for our second BARC Maintenance Day, working on a mix of projects ranging from tire rotations and new tire installs to CANserver setups and a radar detector hardwire. A highlight of the day was an impromptu tutorial on radios and antennas, which gave everyone a chance to learn something new. The event struck a balance between hands-on work and casual community time, with plenty of shared knowledge (and tools) going around.

Rivians & Refreshments with Motovelo Coffee – August 23 – Alameda
We kicked off Electrify Expo weekend with a strong turnout: 30 Rivians and about 50 people gathered outside the venue. Motovelo Coffee, roasted by one of our own members, was a huge hit — and Butter Cream Bakery pastries didn’t last long either. The vibe was laid back but buzzing with excitement for the Expo, and our lineup was prominently visible from the entrance, putting BARC front and center for all attendees.

Rivian Palo Alto Space Open House – August 22–24 – Stanford Shopping Center
Despite the busy weekend, a number of members made it to Palo Alto for the Space’s housewarming celebration on Friday night. Attendees were treated to exclusive giveaways, a chance to connect with Rivian executives, and a first look at the new Space in action. It was a lively gathering that highlighted Rivian’s growing presence in the Bay Area, and we’re glad BARC was represented.
